The Illustrated London News Article


The article was written to celebrate the school's centenary, which had been postponed for three years due to the Second World War. To mark the special occasion the newspaper sent its artist Captain Bryan de Grineau to visit the school and give his impressions of life at Rossall.

He stated that the school had a reputation for fitness and a fine scholastic record. Most importantly however, the article writes that "it would be difficult to find a happier or more vigorous community, braced by the salt winds and keen air of the Irish sea." A statement still true to this day.
